To truly shift the mainstream broadcasting landscape and increase the representation of Americans of Latino descent, we must take matters into our own hands. The only way to make the change is to create it ourselves. Our goal is to develop and provide television networks with compelling, mainstream relevant content that not only resonates with Latino communities but also captures the attention of the non-Latino mainstream audience. This will create an economic development opportunity for Texans in entertainment, as never before. To do this, we must build the infrastructure for success: establishing state-of-the-art studio facilities, finding great writers, training the next generation, and ensuring that our productions meet the highest standards of quality.
Over the years, we’ve worked on several projects that have provided the proof that Latinos can create compelling English language content for a mainstream audience. Productions like thje ground breaking Alamo Heights SA, has created employment opportunities for talented individuals and have shown the viability of Latino-led content in mainstream media.
Alamo Heights SA, a dramatic soap opera in English featuring two Latino families, served as a proof of concept for a streaming series. With this project, we were able to create jobs for approximately 200 people, from writers to crew to actors, demonstrating the potential of Latino-led productions to generate both cultural and economic value. It’s proof that when we take the initiative to produce and license our own content, we create opportunities for the community while redefining the future of entertainment.
