Before it was an emoji, before the jokes and double meanings, the aubergine simply grew — lush, curved, and full of promise - rain clinging to its surface like the memory of something ancient.
It could be just a vegetable. Or, like the fruit in Eden, it could be something more — a symbol of desire, of curiosity, of playful rebellion. Did we get it wrong? Was the famous Apple an aubergine? This image invites us into a modern Garden, where even the most innocent things come loaded with meaning.
Witty and ripe with suggestion, this reminds us: it’s not just about what’s seen — but what we’ve been told to see.
